I am Kloot

The band released their debut album, Natural History, in the UK in March 2001 on the Wall of Sound offshoot 'We Love You', followed by the I Am Kloot album in September 2003, on the Echo imprint.
Echo had originally planned to release "Proof" as a single to promote the second album, but after agreeing on artwork and a track listing (and commissioning a video featuring Christopher Eccleston, directed by Krishna Stott), the label shelved these ideas and subsequently issued the single as a download only (though a few copies were issued in Europe on the PIAS imprint). This action is commonly seen as the start of the dispute that would subsequently see the band leave the label.[citation needed]
The band remained with Echo for their third LP, Gods and Monsters (2005), but left the label citing a lack of financial support after another planned single, "I Believe", was cancelled at short notice. Later that year they issued a limited edition single entitled "Maybe I Should" on November 21, following some of their biggest headlining gigs in the UK, culminating in a show at the London Astoria.
In April 2006 "Only Role in Town", was made available for free download to their fanbase, followed by the release of an album of John Peel session tracks in October 2006, recorded over two sessions in 2001 and 2004.
I Am Kloot's fourth studio album, I Am Kloot Play Moolah Rouge, was available at gigs in November 2007 as a limited edition of 2000 copies, before going on general release on 14 April 2008.
In October 2009, they released a double album compilation of B-sides, rarities and unreleased songs collected under the title of B.
I Am Kloot's next studio album, Sky at Night, was released on 5 July 2010 through Shepherd Moon Records. The album was produced by Craig Potter and Guy Garvey from Elbow.[2]

The Sky at Night album was shortlisted for the 2010 Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize.[3]

Take 10 Minutes Out Each Day

1.     Find a quiet place

2.     Take a couple of deep breaths and close your eyes. Become aware of your senses

3.     Scan through your body and notice which parts feel comfortable and which tense

4.     Each time the minds wanders, gently bring it back to your breathing pattern

5.     Focus instead on being at ease with whatever is happening in the mind

3652011 Track of the Day : PJ Harvey - The Last Living Rose

Polly Jean Harvey (born 9 October 1969) is an English musician and singer-songwriter. She was raised in Corscombe, Dorset and Yeovil, Somerset. Growing up, her parents were both fans of American blues music. Their record collection exposed Harvey not only to the blues but also to Captain Beefheart. Both the blues and Beefheart would become major influences on Harvey’s own musical style.
Harvey is primarily a vocalist and guitarist, but is also proficient with a wide range of instruments including piano, organ, bass, saxophone, and autoharp. She began her professional career in the early 1990s by forming a band she named PJ Harvey. She recorded her first two albums with this trio, and when they broke up she continued as a solo artist. Since 1995 she has recorded her albums with various musicians including John Parish, Rob Ellis, Mick Harvey, and Eric Drew Feldman. She has also worked extensively with the producer Flood.

3652011 Track of the Day : Susanna and The Magical Orchestra - Love Will Tear Us Apart

Susanna and the Magical Orchestra is the moniker of singer Susanna Karolina Wallumrød (born 1979), and keyboard player Morten Qvenild (born 1978). Their style of music can be described as quiet, slow pop mixed with elements from electronica and jazz. Susanna has a very distinct, clear and cool voice that stands much on its own, only accompanied by Morten on various keyboard instruments such as acoustic piano, synthesizers and even harpsichord and church organ. The duo is mostly known for their highly personal interpretations of well known songs such as Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".

3652011 Track of the Day : CocoRosie - Smokey Taboo

CocoRosie is a musical group formed in 2003 by sisters Bianca "Coco" and Sierra "Rosie" Casady. The sisters were born and raised in the United States, but formed the band in Paris after meeting for the first time in years. Their music has been called "freak folk", and incorporates elements of pop, blues, opera, electronica, and hip hop.
CocoRosie was originally a duo, with Sierra singing, playing the guitar, piano and harp, and Bianca singing and manipulating various children's toys, electronic and percussion instruments, as well as other exotic noisemakers. They subsequently added various backing musicians at live shows, usually a bassist, synth player and beatboxer. They have been a very active touring group, playing across Europe, the United States, and elsewhere. They have released four full-length albums: La maison de mon rêve (2004), Noah's Ark (2005), The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn (2007), and Grey Oceans (2010).

An artwork painted on a billboard is seen in Los Angeles on Feb. 16, 2011. Street artist Banksy's first film "Exit Through the Gift Shop" is up for an Oscar -- and it seems the subversive Briton may be waging an unorthodox award campaign on the walls and billboards of Los Angeles. Several examples of graffiti bearing the hallmarks of Banksy's style and humor have turned up in areas of the city in recent days, including a Charlie Brown figure apparently bent on arson, and a cocktail-swigging Mickey Mouse.

John Makely writes:Graffiti credited to secretive British artist Banksy has been appearing in Los Angeles over the past few days. The artist is nominated  for best documentary for "Exit Through the Gift Shop" at the Oscars. I wonder if he will show his face to accept the award.
